School picture day will be Thursday, September 21, 2017.
All students and staff are welcome to participate in our Hurricane for Hats Day Friday, September 22nd. For a $1 donation you can wear your favorite hat to help raise money for the American Red Cross. This money will help the hurricane victims in Texas and Florida.
Third grade Ohio State English Language Arts (ELA) testing will take place on Tuesday, October 24th (Part I) and Wednesday, October 25th (Part II). The test will be administered at 9:15 am and each session will be 90 minutes long. Please plan any upcoming appointments for your child around these dates/times. All 3rd graders need to take this test and if they are not present during these times, they will need to make up at a later time.
Welcome to the New School Year!
We are so excited to start the new school year! We have a couple of different procedures this year, so I hope this helps with the changes:)
Class Lists - Class lists will not be posted this year. You must update your information in Registration Gateway by August 16th and provide a current email. You will then get an email around 3:00 p.m. on August 17th with your child’s homeroom teacher. If you have any difficulty please contact the Primary School office. We are doing this with the best interest of your child in mind and are trying to keep student information as confidential as possible.
Car Rider Placards: If your child is going to be a car rider consistently this year, please call the office prior to the first day of school. Please tell the staff your child’s name and the number of placards you will need. We will send them home with your child on the first day of school. You still pick up you child on the first day of school.
Buckeye Primary Open House - September 7th, 2017 There will be two presentations that evening, Parents with children with names A - M at 6:30 - 7:15; and
N - Z 7:15 - 8:00. Our goal is for teachers to be able to spend some quality time with you at the beginning the year to share what your child year will look like. We realize that this is very different, and we truly appreciate all of your concerns. Change can be difficult, but just a couple of things to consider....

If you registered your Kindergarten student prior to the end of the 2016-17 school year, summer mailings with your student's AM/PM assignment and orientation date and time have been sent. If you registered them after the end of the school year, you will not receive your student's AM/PM assignment or orientation dates and times until the office returns August 7th.
Kindergarten registration is available for any student who will be 5 years of age (or older) by August 1, 2017. Parents/legal guardians may register their Kindergarten student at any time using the link found HERE; however, we do request that you register your Kindergarten student prior to Monday, August 7, 2017.

Parents/legal guardians may register their 1st through 3rd grade student(s) at any time using the link found HERE. There will be a NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the Buckeye Elementary Media Center (Library). This orientation is for 1st through 3rd grade students only. Kindergarten students have a separate orientation date and time. All transportation information for next year will roll over using the student's HOME address. This applies to every grade level. If parents use a daycare/sitter, a new form for the 2017-18 school year MUST be submitted using the online form found HERE.
The deadline for any changes you would like to make to your 2017-18 transportation is Friday, July 21, 2017. Any requests made after this date will not be added to the bus routes until Monday, August 28, 2017.
This includes changes of address, adding your student to a bus route,
or changing the pickup and/or drop off location for your student. Any changes must be submitted using the online form found
Parents will be responsible for transportation until Monday, August 28, 2017, if they submit changes after the July 21st deadline.
In addition, no change of address requests will be processed until the change of address is submitted to Mrs. Jill Besida (330-722-8257 x1001) at the Buckeye Board of Education offices and verified with a current proof of residency or residency affidavit. Once the address change is verified, it will be processed by Transportation.
